Perimeter Mall is one of the premier shopping destinations in greater Atlanta. The center is comprised of major department stores and 500,000 SF of specialty retail and restaurant tenants. Over an 8 year period, DAIQ coordinated a five phase revitalization and new construction program, beginning in 1993 with a renovation of all interior common areas of the existing property. In 1998, the team completed an 80,000 SF mall expansion extending the common area to engage Nordstrom’s first store in the Southeast. 2,500 and 620 car garages quickly followed, adjacent to and serving the MARTA transit station at the north edge of the site. The revitalization program was completed in 2000 with the opening of 80,000 SF streetscape complex incorporating high-end retailers and destination restaurants around a unique garden courtyard. This project has become the prototype for a new generation of retail projects integrating the street retail and restaurant experience to existing suburban centers throughout the GGP portfolio.
